Those New To Yoga
Anyone new to yoga can easily integrate with Mixed Level or Restorative classes.
Restorative Yoga
Gentle postures practiced in this class will help relieve the effects of chronic pain and stress, ease the over-active mind and reduce blood pressure and fluid retention. The exercises tone and strengthen the muscles, skeleton and joints, and tone and balance the nervous and hormonal systems. The session is ideal for those suffering from back pain, high blood pressure, arthritis, osteoporosis or immune dysfunction, and for those who have been away from activity or are recovering from illness or surgery.

Beginner’s / Gentle Yoga
This course will introduce all aspects of hatha yoga practice including: correct breathing, body alignment, and a variety of yoga postures that will increase strength, flexibility, concentration and deep relaxation.

Intermediate/Vigorous
Postures are held longer to increase strength and promote greater flexilibilty and deeper relaxation. Breathing techniques, breath synchronization, concentration and awareness are further developed. Modifications of yoga postures are given allowing students of varying abilities to experience the powerful and revitalizing benefits of an energetic practice. An optional meditation session is offered following the AM class.

Mixed Level classes - those new to yoga may join these classes
These classes focus on the different aspects of a well-rounded yoga practice. All classes emphasize deep breathing and slow movement stretches which tone muscles and nerves, loosen and flex joints, strengthen the skeleton, improve circulation and balance the hormonal system. The effect is to relax body and mind, relieve tension and cultivate mental calm and clarity.

Meditation
Following the 9:30 - 11:00 class on Wednesday morning, group meditation is offered. The purpose is to bring together those who are interested in introducing meditation into their lives, in a casual setting. There is both practice and discussion of some of the different techniques and styles techniques of meditation. 30-45 minutes per session.
